Church History

In 1999 – Leaving Las Vegas
Pastor Kelly Richards responded to the call of God to start a new work. Grace Cathedral Community Church was officially chartered in the State of Nevada on September 20, 1999. In January of 2000 GCCC became a 501© 3 nonprofit organization. GCCC held its Sunday services in a merged service with Antisepsis Full Gospel Ministries. Pastor Kelly and Andrea prayed earnestly about the call to move GCCC to the Flint area. Pastor Kelly and Andrea believed in their heart that God directed them to leave Las Vegas and begin a ministry directed at their friends and family. Pastor Kelly and Andrea made phone calls back to Michigan preparing family and friends for the new work in Flint.  God showed he was awesome to this young ministry. God opened up doors for the pastors to secure employment before they even left Las Vegas.

In 2004 – The Charter Service
Pastor Kelly held a meeting with about 10 like minded people who wanted to participate in this new church start.  Pastor Recco and his family, Percy Richards and his family, Charles banks and his family and others were interested in participating in this new work.  Pastor Kelly changed all the official church paperwork over to the State of Michigan and the first official Flint service was held in March of 2004 with a message titled, “How to Love Your Family”.

In March of 2005 – Supernatural Increase
The church began to experience a supernatural increase in its membership and doubled in size.  In an area were people are moving and leaving this church beat the odds and continues to grow.

In August of 2005 – Vision Casting
The leaders of the church embarked on a spiritual journey to develop a strategic vision for the church to follow through 2007.  We wanted the church to reach out and evangelize the community as we strengthened the church financially.

In January of 2006 – Growth of GCCC Ministries
GCCC ministries have seen profound growth in the number of members volunteering for ministry.  Our members and friends have found areas in the church where they can help and feel free to share their gifts.

In 2007 – Journey Of Faith Stewardship Campaign
It’s was time to start coming together as a church to buy a building.
The members rallied together to develop a plan to raise money to buy permanent church home.  The Journey of Faith Capital Stewardship Campaign came out of prayer, fasting and togetherness.

In June of 2008 – Purchase of our new home
GCCC ministries have seen profound growth in the number of members volunteering for ministry.  Our members and friends have found areas in the church where they can help and feel free to share their gifts.

In March of 2009 – Spiritual move to pay off our new home
GCCC has embarked on a renewed push on our Journey of Faith to pay of our new home by 2011.

In March of 2010 – Present
GCCC has been embarked on our Journey of Faith to pay off our new home. Even though we didn’t meet our 2011 date, God has been on our side and gave us much favor. We have received an extension to pay off our building. God has shown us much grace and is continuing to do so.
God only knows what’s next?
